It's an ok supermarket, in a rough part of town. Armed security is present at the front door. I'm glad they have someone posted if its that badly needed. All the staff was very friendly, the stores shelves stocked, but the bathrooms we're disgusting! I guess most grocery stores don't take care of their restrooms. Safeway has horrible bathrooms on the West coast and managers don't care. Oh well, I'm glad they were there I needed cold medicine and soup in a pinch. Perhaps I'll see out a better grocery store next time.
Absolutely filthy! The store manager is well aware and doesn't care. I'm also reporting this to the health department. And the machines already have cockroaches and have for some time. Management is well aware.
For Friday afternoon before a 3 Day Labor Day weekend at 4:20 p.m. there was only ONECashier for about a 10-minute time period before a second one opened up and then finally a third but in the meantime (and I did Count) there were 22 customers lined up at the one check out window...... and there were also about 15 people lined up at the "Easy checkout" area.Finally two of the managers came out and help bag groceries at 2 of the checkout areas, which was very cool of them, and they were apologetic to each customer as they put their groceries in the carts.Overall the store was clean shows were stocked efficiently and all end caps were "fronted"nicely( and what that means is all the products were brought to the front of all the shelves and lined up nice and neatly).What started out as a possible 0 - 1 Star experience, eventually turned out to be an 4-Star rating.( and that was because a third manager showed up and began the job of a cashier at another cash on station as I was leaving the store so hats off to the management of tops for stepping up to the plate and doing what they had to do to make their Customers happy.
Conveniently located, I scan the online flyer and purchase items which I need that are on sale. Love the purchase 2/get 2 or 3 of the same item "free." Also the "BOGO" items; buy one-get one free. A hit or miss with the produce items. I am careful to check expiration dates. Customer service is always an isle or two away. Don't care that dairy products and most frozen foods are not encased behind glass doors. Area around outside of store could be cleaner, and an upgrade on shopping carts. Rusty!
friendly. i love the cashiers.they always know me by name and I'm just a long time customer. the make me feel welcome. hard to find good people in customer service these days but for the most part this Tops is really great. !
