This is definitely a good place to play Pokemon go, and there is a lot of activity at the gyms. It is also worth noting that the gyms here are mostly ex-raid gyms, so there is a lot of turnover when combined with the fact that this is a common area for tourists to visit.Generally speaking, the park seems to close around 11pm. People will start to leave around 10pm in the evening, and park authority (or police, not sure) will patrol the grounds and ask you to leave if you are hanging around the area too late. There is a footpath in this park that gets a lot of pedestrian traffic. It is composed of several footbridges with great views of the rapids. I haven't been here during the weekdays, but weekends seem to be moderately busy -- if you are there primarily for the nature then it's fairly safe to say that the crowds of tourists is pretty minimal, for the most part.
Niagara Falls is stunning. The views from either the U.S. or Canadian sides are marvelous. We were here in late September, so the crowds were not too large. That being said, arrive by mid-morning to have a decent chance at parking (sidelight: if you're camping in one of the other nearby state parks, your camping permit gets you free parking! Also Parking Lot #2, although not as conveniently located as #1, is larger and may be the better option). We must have timed the boat ride perfectly, because it took us probably less than 20 minutes from entry to having the boat launch. We had packed lunches, so I cannot comment on the quality of the food from any of the vendors. We walked across the Rainbow Bridge into Canada twice, with no issues (remember your passport) and minimal wait times. Overall a great experience.
The park is beautiful, even with all the construction going on. With that said, you know they are making an investment to make it even better. The visitor center is open and the staff is ready to assist. If you are not sure what you may want to do, stop by and speak with some one first before purchasing any tickets. The park has benches and plenty of walkways to enjoy a pleasant stroll. You can come here to enjoy the scenery or the amenities.
It's Niagara Falls. You must go and do it. First, get there at about 10AM or weather permitting. Park at Seneca Casino (free instead of the $30 parking requested just one block closer), grab yourself a casino card so that you can eat a free buffet (a great one too). Then enjoy the falls. There is plenty of walking for free and great views of Canada. If you're feeling thrifty, it's 5 quarters per person to go to an observation deck and get a pretty dope picture of the falls. But if you want to go all out, it's 23 bucks for the boat ride into the falls and plenty of mist. 45 bucks to do everything, including deep caves, aquarium, blah blah. Just have fun. Plenty of fun people to see enjoying their holiday. Also a plus, there is a Nickola Tesla memoriam statue in his honor at the falls... Go find it
The most amazing State Park Ive ever visited. The energy is so positive its absolutely powerful! I would come back to feel these great vibes again and again. Perfect Wedding/Honeymoon location. Pack a raincoat, and or poncho, if it does not rain, the mist will. I loved my vacation!!!
