Fantastic! One of the greatest family places ever!!! Only reason that I have not given it 5 stars is because the room doors can be easily undone by a 1 year old and to stay is very very expensive. Also, if you are not going to swim in the pool area you should not have to pay $60 just to sit in there and watch the children. Ice machines need to be placed in more areas and the elevators need to be faster or more of them. I would recommend this place to other people for sure!
Daughters loved our stay at GWL. Food was decent. They had a fireworks display as well as a live band which was great. The room was clean and comfortable but the location was pretty far from the pool area. The view from the room was undesirable but understandable considering our location. The air conditioner was turned off and I had to manually turn it on. The safe was locked and we had to get the front desk to send someone over to unlock it. They have carts to transport your luggage which was convenient. Checkout was convenient as it was automatic. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely go back.
This was a one night stay. The hotel was kept very clean, and staff were really friendly and eager to help. Most impressive were the lifeguard staff. We've been a few times now, and we feel comfortable knowing Our kids, 10 and 7, are safe in the hands of the water park staff. Other amenities include a spa for the kids, an arcade, exercise room, and meeting rooms. The buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is pretty good. Omelette bar for breakfast etc. I think there are 3 or 4 tiers of rooms. We've stayed in the basic, and the last time stayed in a 'wolf den'. Gives the kids their own room with bunk beds and a TV. They loved it. Overall, an enjoyable time, and the kids have a blast.
A great hotel with an awesome water park! They have some amazing rides like the Wolf Tail and Canadian Rapid Run as well as a great section for kids with a smaller water slides and a big park with water slides and water spraying everywhere. The lazy river is slow and has buckets of water make it hard to relax. The wave pool is around 10Minutes on and 10 minuets off and the waves are decent. There are two hot tubs as well. One for all ages and one for 16+ that is outdoors. There is also a pool outdoors that is only open in the summer. The one downside of Great Wold Lodge is the expensive cost of food in the water park and the 3 restaurants in the hotel. Overall a great place for a vacation, especially in the winter!
Great experience! My kids love the Wave Pool. The water is not cold and its always summer inside the water park even in the cold Canadian weather. The kids Bowling Lane is awesome. The whole family enjoyed a lot. We had a happy family vacation. Worth every penny!
